The Manly House is a 1917 sand stock brick terrace house, fully renovated and extended in 2023 with a Scandinavian/Japanese inspired second level. There are floorboards throughout and a sense of space, light and great airflow. The upper level hosts two bedrooms, each with an ensuite. Those rooms have private balconies, one with ocean views and one with an outdoor stargazing bath. The ground floor features a bedroom with reading nook, and a front-to-back flowing common area that houses the lounge, dining and kitchen. Retracting sliding doors open to the back yard and garden, with outdoor seating, a day bed, bbq & Japanese Cedar Spa. The property is furnished to feel luxurious yet comfortable with a mix of modern and antique. The property feels both serene, yet with all that Manly has to offer at its doorstep. Children are welcome, but we ask you to please take extra care with smaller children regards the stairs and also please ensure the furniture, etc aren't damaged or stained. Much appreciated. Earlyier check-in or check-out may be available, please ask. If we can;t accommodate this for your visit, we can generally accommodate an earlier bag-drop on your arrival day.

Neighborhood

The location is wonderful, being just 100m from the sand of one of the world’s greatest beaches, moments from any number of restaurants, cafes, shops, and more. The flat is a part of Manly that runs along the beach and is level for easy walking & riding. Small laneways, interesting buildings and shops inhabit this area. It’s more likely you will meet friendly locals than tourists in this part of Manly, but its just steps from the busier Corso retail and dining precinct. The Manly Ferry is an 8-minute walk away, as are the famous harbor beaches & scenic walks.

Guest Access

You have full access to the entire house. The house is located on the corner of two quiet streets one street back from the beach. You have garden access from a side gate as well as front door access via an electronic keypad lock.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully appointed house. Everything was thoughtfully designed with the traveler in mind. On arrival we were greeted with wine, fresh bakery bread and butter, snacks, milk and even chocolate and strawberries — such a lovely touch! Tea and fresh ground coffee ready to go. All the bathroom and kitchen amenities you would want were provided. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and every detail in the home felt carefully considered. Stefan's communication was great and house instructions were clear. The parking permit was a big plus. A gorgeous property that I would happily return to and highly recommend.

Stefan was a great host, polite and easy to get onto with any queries. Property is pristine and comfortable, we travelled with a 3 adults, a toddler and an infant. Would definitely stay again.

You can walk everywhere in Manly with ease. Shops, restaurants, supermarkets, cafes and more are all within easy walking distance. If you decide to venture further afield you can be at the Manly Ferry and bus interchange in around 8 minutes. You can be in the city by ferry or car in typically 25 minutes. Parking on-street is generally easy to find if you have a car. Uber and taxis are also readily available in the area.
